G.I. Joe: Retaliation is a 2013 American military science fiction action film directed by Jon M. Chu, based on Hasbro's G.I. Joe toy, comic and media franchises. It was written by Zombieland writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, and serves as both a sequel to 2009's G.I. Joe: The Rise of
Cobra, and as a reboot of the franchise. G.I. Joe: Retaliation features an ensemble cast, with Channing Tatum, Arnold Vosloo, Ray Park, Jonathan Pryce and Byung-hun Lee reprising their roles from the first film. Stars Dwayne Johnson, Adrianne Palicki, D.J. Cotrona, and Bruce Willis as General Joseph Colton round out the principal cast.In the film, the Joes are framed as traitors by Zartan, who is still impersonating the President of the United States, and Cobra Commander now has all the world leaders under Cobra's control, with their advanced warheads aimed at innocent populaces around the world. Outnumbered and out gunned, the Joes form a plan with the original G.I. Joe Joseph Colton, to overthrow the Cobra Commander and his allies Zartan, Storm Shadow and Firefly.Originally slated for release in June 2012, the film was delayed in order to convert the movie to 3D and boost interest in international markets. It was released in North America on March 28, 2013, and received generally negative reviews, but was a box office success, grossing over $375 million worldwide.

G.I. Joe: Retaliation:Duke has become the leader of the G.I. Joe unit, which is framed for stealingnuclear warheads from Pakistan by Zartan , who is impersonating the President ofthe United States . The majority of the unit is subsequently eliminated in amilitary air strike with Duke among the casualties. The only survivors are Roadblock , Flint , and Lady Jaye .Meanwhile, Storm Shadow (Byung-hun Lee) and Firefly (Ray Stevenson) rescue Cobra Commander (Luke Bracey) from an underground maximum-security prison in Germany, who in turn abandons Destro. Storm Shadow is injured during the escape and retreats to a temple in the Himalayas to recover. Upon learning that he is alive, the Blind Master , leader of the Arashikage Clan, sends Snake Eyes (Ray Park) and his apprentice Jinx (Elodie Yung), Storm Shadow's cousin, to capture StormShadow so he can answer for the murder of his uncle the Hard Master.Roadblock, Flint, and Lady Jaye return to the United States where they set up a base ofoperations in a rundown gym. After Zartan announces that Cobra will replace the Joes as America'selite special forces unit, Lady Jaye deduces that someone is impersonating the President, and Roadblock leads them to General Joseph Colton (Bruce Willis), who provides them with weapons, and helps them infiltrate a fundraising event that the President will be attending (James Carville appears in a cameo). Lady Jaye steals a sample of the President's DNA and confirms that he is Zartan. They escape after a brief confrontation with Firefly and Zandar , the head of the U.S.Secret Service's Presidential Detail and a member of Cobra.
